Andy McKay Photographer with camera

Landscape photography is my passion. I've always loved being outdoors and living in Scotland I am blessed with amazing places to explore and some of the best light in the world.

For the past 20 years I've been exploring the natural world with my camera and creating landscape images which I hope create an emotional response in me and those who view them. It's about capturing the essence of the places I photograph - and in particular the light at the very moment the shutter is clicked.

As an environmentalist, I believe it's important to consider the impact our photography has on the natural world and so I spend a lot of time photographing the landscapes close to home, rather than travelling to more famous places. I believe landscape photography has a vital part to play in making people aware of the natural world and I aim to encourage people to go outside, experience it for themselves and raise awareness about what we stand to lose if we don't reverse the climate emergency.
